Using the sensor, the lights would not go off if you used the 10 or 20 minutes cut off times on the booster range mode, so when I called up tech support they say you can't use those times in the booster mode because the sensor after one minutes would keep sensing the heat so you need to turn back the sensitivity settings which worked fine after that, but I wished they would have at least mention that in the instructions. But then why advertise increase sensitivity range if you can't use it with halogen lights.  On fourth call back from customer, nothing but problems, By This review is from: Heath/Zenith SL-5316-BZ-C Deluxe Replacement Motion Sensor with DualBrite, Bronze (Tools & Home Improvement) I bought two of these sensors for a customer, one for over the garage door 20 feet up, and on for flood next to front door pointing towards driveway.This is now the forth time I have been called back for miss operating sensors, the garage one just stays on and the front porch one works,,,, then doesn't, then just stays on. Sensor is mounted below two 90 watt floods in a red dot box with sensor set to half, 1 minute cut off, with boost off. I installed two of these puppies on the ceiling fixtures in that hall & they work exceptionally. As these are meant to replace the sensors on security lights, I bought & painted a utility box & cover to install each next to ceiling lights. Installation & adjustments were easy. The dual brite feature turns on the lights at a dim level after dusk, and ramp up to full brightness when the device detects motion.I set the timer to keep the lights on for 1 minute after the last motion is sensed. While I cannot run down the hall and expect the lights to go on, at normal walking speeds these are wonderful. These sensors don't work with fluorescent lights of any ilk, but that is really a non-issue. For much of my house, light switches are a non-green relic of the past. And groping for the switches to turn on and forgetting to turn the lights off are also history. I bought mine at the big box... Read more |
