Ft Major & 400 Sq. Ft Minor Motion Coverage, White (Tools & Home Improvement) Originally had the ODS10-ID which doesn't have the Ultrasonic capabilities. This product is much nicer because it has an adaptive mode, which the other one didn't, and you don't need to be in the direct line of sight for the lights to stay on, which is a problem with the position on the wall because it doesn't have clear sight of the entire garage and this item solves that problem.It did take a bit of finesse to make the settings just right so the lights would actually turn off, apparently the default setting was too sensitive and never turned the lights off. Once I got it working correctly it works like a charm for our everyday needs. Overall this product is great and works well, but it can be a bit difficult to get the settings right, was just trial and error for me, but in the end the work of setting it up properly was well worth effort, would recommend for users who don't mind spending time adjusting the settings on this unit. 1 of 2 people found the following review helpful Finally ... it really works!, By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Leviton OSSMT-MDI Ultrasonic/Infrared, Dual-Relay Multi-Technology Wall Switch sensor, 2400 Sq. Ft Minor Motion Coverage, Ivory (Tools & Home Improvement) I've had a simpler, lower-cost motion sensor controlling the lights in a back room off our main living space for several years. It mostly worked -- it provided light when someone was in the room, and darkness when they left -- but with limitations. If the sensitivity was set high enough to keep the lights on while in the room, they would often turn on randomly later. The heat from the lights themselves seemed to make the problem worse: the longer the period of use, the more likely false triggering occurred later. Also, walking near the door to the room was often enough to set the sensor off. It saved energy, but when adding in 4-8 false triggers every day, not as much as one might hope.When I moved to LED lighting to cool the room, a new problem arose. Most of the inexpensive 'no neutral' light controllers use a solid-state switch device to enable the lighting, and these designs require a lamp load that is resistive -- i.e., incandescent or halogen lighting...
