I have purchased over ten of these models at different times.The Pros: I noticed a significant decrease in my electric bill after the install when compared with the previous mercury vapor fixtures that we replaced. Additionally the flourex light is brilliantly white and much easier to see then the previous orange hue the older fixures put out. The Cons: Plastic and inexpensive means that they are not heavy duty. They are functional lights, but one can expect to replace these more frequently then a heavy-duty fixture. I have had to replace two of mine within a year. The Bottom Line: When you have to buy a large quantity of fixtures and are on a limited budget, these cannot be beat. I was able to purchase ten fixtures for less then the price of one commercial fixture. That being said, if one or two goes bad or is vandalized, it still is cheaper... When I purchase something like this I expect to install it and then forget about it for 5 years and then maybe replace the light bulb, not have major problems with the mother board. Speaking of light bulbs, this is an expensive one, not your average long life inexpensive one. They should be sold as: "Lights of China" Total JUNK!! |
