I guess if you really want a bright light under the kitchen cabinets, you have to hard wire them in (which was not an option for us). These RightLight LED puck lights give off a little more light than others we tried, and they have been working just fine for us since we installed them about a month ago. However, the light that they throw (from even a distance as close as 18") is disappointingly underpowered, and very directional as one might expect from LEDs, but sadly still true even with 5 LEDs in a single unit.
