I used it in the kitchen. I was amazed how much light it provided. My hall is very dark, so I wanted to get two more of the flouresent night lights,but the store no longer carried them. I then went on line to find them. I bought 2 packages of two each. I use one at each end of my hall. I seldom use the one closest to our bedrooms, because one light is sufficent. The other two lights I put aside for future use. I think these lights are marvelous, but I doubt if I'd want to use one in a child's room because of how bright they are. It would depend on the child, though.
