Shaped like a miniature barrel, it's ideal for outdoor use and is made of durable steel with a matte black finish; the glass panels are frosted for a softer lighting that still illuminates plenty.
Dimensions are a squat 7-3/4 inches tall and 6 inches wide, true to its barrel aspirations. The fixture includes one 13-watt compact fluorescent twist bulb; the light is Energy Star approved for efficient power use, and uses a photocell to automatically turn on at dusk and off at dawn for carefree, year-round lighting. Something I wasn't aware of is the fact that it has a photocell, so it automatically comes on at dusk. Very nice! The only problem was that the bulb that was included, was completely shattered. And naturally, it's a special type of bulb.....not your regular fluorescent. This bulb has two contacts which are inserted into the lamp, as opposed to the screw-in type.
